A relaxing (?) weekend in the Ardennes

Last weekend, we went to Rochefort, a small village in the great "Belgian mountains", the Ardennes. It was a crowded weekend, with 13 people in one single house! But a great house: with very nice bedrooms with private bathrooms, a fully equiped kitchen with everything you can think of, a cosy living room and top of the bill... a sauna and jacuzzi! In short everything for a relaxing weekend!

Of course in the beginning and the end it wasn't all that relaxing. First there was the stress of buying food for 13 people with only 3 people (more than 2 completely packed shopping carts, which turned out to be way too much food!). And in the end we ended up with hours and hours of sleep deprivation!
Especially the part where we were still in Rochefort at 9.30 am on Monday, but had to be back at work in Leuven at 1 pm was hard...

But apart from that it was very nice, with the games, the walks, the quiz, the great food (Mart's bacon & eggs! Els's pies! My sweetie's winter BBQ and Erwin's meat thing!) and of course the jacuzzi (at least for the 2 first days...).

So all in all it was a great weekend in a great cottage, at least for the people who weren't sick ;)

A walk in the park...

Last week, on a cold but sunny autumn day, we went for a walk in the park closeby (het provinciaal domein), together with Mieke & Mart.

Guess who's my boyfriend ;)
No wonder Mieke is looking jealous!

Luckily for Pascal and Mart, there was a playground inside the park! I guess this proves in the end even grown-up guys will always be little boys...

Our pet

Since a couple of weeks, we have a pet: a gerbil named "Jefke sex". We didn't pick the name, Bert & Sylvia (the couple we got him from) named him, probably with very good reason...
He's a cuty though, except that he likes to bite my sweaters!! But apart from that minor flaw, he's a very good waste disposal factory on its own: he bites every piece of cardboard (especially toilet paper rolls) to tiny pieces and makes his hole with them. It's really a cute pet, we can recommend it!

Our new home

It's been already more than 2 months since my boyfriend Pascal and I moved into our new cosy home, but since some of you still haven't seen the pictures (yes, Bia & Renata, shame on me!!), here they finally are...

Once empty, the house didn't look so nice anymore and we had a lot of cleaning and painting to do the first days (that is, me and my parents, while Pascal was too busy doing "other stuff ;) ).

But I must admit, I think the result looks quite nice... (I'm sorry I'm disturbing some of the pictures, but Pascal is not a great photographer!).
And our little garden:
